Xtreme Week

Xtreme Week for Middle and High School Students

Each spring, all of our TFCA middle school and high school students spend a week in an inter-term class for Xtreme Week. Students sign up for a course taught or facilitated by one of our TFCA staff members.

This is in place of our regular classes.  Courses offered are different each year and we try to offer courses in all the different content areas.  In the past few years, we have offered the following:  trips to Washington, DC,  Atlanta, Charleston, Disneyland, Costa Rica & Jamaica; woodworking, art classes (painting, pottery, ceramics, jewelry making, leather work and more), service trips (Appalachia, around Frankfort),  STEAM week (lego, robotics, building, coding), Kentucky History, Outdoor Adventures (white water rafting, spelunking, rappelling, hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing), cooking/baking, and more.

A course catalog is produced in early fall, students sign up for their top three choices, they are matched to a course and payments are made from January through May.
