6th grade science is an introduction to middle school science. It is an integrated science covering tools and procedures of a scientist, physics (motion and forces) and chemistry (how matter interacts). One of the highlights of 6th grade science is always the building of rockets!
7th grade science is life science. It focuses on the smallest of life- the cell- all the way through to organisms living in ecosystems. Students always enjoy the hands-on of the systems of the body culminating with dissecting chickens and frogs.
8th grade science is earth and space science. We start the year in space and the chemicals that are out there waiting to be found. Students study the weather that affects us and make and record a weather forecast. In addition to weather, students also look at how the earth is also affected and changes due to volcanoes and earthquakes. During that unit they make models of volcanoes.
