“No Greater Joy. . .”

“I have no greater JOY than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

3 John 4

The theme of this 2010-2011 school year is “No Greater Joy. . .”  The Lord wants us to learn to live lives full of joy.  We will teach our students to be joy-filled in every aspect of their lives.  Mark Twain said, “To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with.”  We will strive this year to show joy in every circumstance:  with friends, with teachers, with co-workers, with parents, with siblings.  Teaching students about the life and eternal love of Jesus Christ will bring an everlasting joy to all involved.

So how do we have a life filled with joy?  We must begin to love and like the people around us; we must replace the fear in our life with God’s love; we must stop thinking about ourselves and go out and do something for others.  That’s a start!

We will find ways to solve problems positively.  We will cheerfully praise one another instead of blaming.  We will remain positive when situations are not ideal or things are not going our way.  There is a special strength that comes from a joyful person.  This not only benefits our own lives, but also causes us to be an energy-giver to all those around.

We will also greet each other every morning with a cheerful smile.  Medical research has confirmed that a joyful smile actually strengthens the immune system, which fights against disease in the body.  May we join with the Psalmist and say, “. . . Joy comes in the morning!” (Psalm 30:5b)  Make the list below a matter of prayer each day.  We look forward to a joy-filled year!!

I Will. . .

*look for good in every situation

*hope for the best

*encourage others

*smile and laugh

*keep my mind on others instead of myself

*trust God in all situations
